Taking Care of Hearing Aids in the Summer
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HEARING AIDS IN THE SUMMER:
1. Get a dry & store unit for your hearing aids. This is a dehumidifier that will help not only keep your hearing aids dry, but also help to clear out ear wax and bad odors.
2. Avoid water. Remove your hearing aids before jumping in.
3. Open the battery door on your hearing aids at night to help clear the moisture.
4. Be careful with sunscreen, as it can damage your hearing aids. Take extra precautions when applying sunscreen to your ears, head and neck.
5. Protect your hearing aids from the sun. Hearing aids are made with plastic and electronic components, which can be sensitive in high heat. Avoid direct heat for an extended period of time.
